to Queen Amidala and Padme

Padme wears this costume when she is packing to leave Coruscant. The Visual Dictionary, which often gives an interesting/amusing SW worldview on the costumes says that the subdued colours reflect grave mood and that a corset of light armour doubles as protection. The fabric (of skirt) hides blast-damping underskirt. Someone's got a good imagination! During production, this costume was known as P-16.
